Notes
Pheneas Mweli was a foundational figure in Ardmore's early success, frequently collaborating with painters like Thembi Berning to create highly detailed, whimsical ceramics, such as guineafowl dishes and giraffe bowls. He passed away in the late 1990s, but his legacy as an early master of the Ardmore style lives on in the art world.
