Notes
This present lot is one of the 54 screenprinted images and poems included in Nesos (1968), a book created by Walter Battiss following several visits to the Greek islands between 1966 and 1968. The project, completed over eight months, reflects Battiss’s impressions of sixteen Greek islands and showcases his experimentation with screenprinting. Each print in the edition was hand-printed by the artist himself, with only 25 numbered copies produced, alongside a few proof impressions.
