Critics Ratings

‘From old Cinsault vines. Very pale red. Cherryade nose. Dusty and minerally on the palate. A real curiosity. I suspect that if you gave this wine blind to someone they would have a bit of difficulty understanding its rather uncompromising structure, especially its firmness, but it’s a definite contribution to the canon of wine experiences. Sweet redcurrant fruit is followed by a demanding austerity.' – Jancis Robinson, jancisrobinson.com, 17/20 (Jun 2014)

'Honouring Cinsaut, the workhorse red grape of earlier times. From 43 year old vines, bunch ferment, unfined/filtered. Redcurrants and cherries on the 2012, touch of scrub, and elegantly structured, the tannins mainly from the grapes, giving purity and length.' - Platter's SA Wine Guide 2014, 4.5*

'A stylish, perfumy wine, with alluring singed sandalwood, rooibos tea, red currant, white pepper, floral and blood orange notes all woven together and carrying through the long, silky finish.' - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 92/100 (Jun 2014)
