About this Item
100% Chenin Blanc
Wine of Origin: Swartland
Winemaker: David Sadie
Our Veiling Chenin blanc bottling is a blend of two Paardeberg dry-land farmed vineyards, both Old Vine Project certified Single Vineyards and bush vines planted in 1981 and 1985 respectively. These vineyards are farmed without any tilling of the soils, planted with cover crops for the winter and mulched as well as composted yearly. During vintage, we harvest more than once from the same vineyard to create various components. Grapes were hand- harvested and chilled in a cooling room overnight before being hand-sorted and whole bunch pressed. Naturally fermented and matured in older 300 litre French oak barrels for 11 months before being blended for bottling.
Tasting Notes: Focused on tension, length and salinity.
Ready for drinking in 5 to 10 years and will age 10 to 15+ years.
