Rodan Kane Hart
50000 Tears in a Sea Galaxy of Clouds
About this Item
inscribed with the artist's name on the reverse
Notes
The present lot is composed of a mild steel base punctuated by countless hand-applied stainless steel welded dots. The surface, rippling and breathing under light, suggests both a material landscape and an ephemeral, shifting atmosphere. The laborious, rhythmic act of marking steel transforms a cold, industrial surface into something tactile and meditative – a skin inscribed with memory. Echoing elements of post-minimalist practices seen in the work of artists like Richard Serra, Tatsuo Miyajima, and Liza Lou, Hart’s piece fuses durational process with material intervention. Each stainless steel point becomes a small portal of reflection, cumulatively creating an organic, cloud-like field. This lot reflects Hart’s ongoing investigation into time, material memory, and the quiet persistence of mark-making.
