‘‘Good development on the nose. Well balanced and grown up. Quite long and dense. Persistent and not too sweet.’ - Jancis Robinson, jancisrobinson.com, 17/20 (Feb 2016)
A vibrant version that shows lovely harmony, swathing the palate in satiny texture and a delicate mesh of poached pear, chopped almond, biscuit and white raspberry flavors. A lasting note of smoky mineral echoes on the finish. Drink now through 2027.’ - Wine Spectator, 93/100 (Dec 2014)
‘The dominantly tart apple character of Clicquot’s 2004 Brut makes for a piquant and invigorating if somewhat raw overall impression, incorporating as well overt yeastiness and hints of almond, apple pip, and lemon rind. Insofar as there are impressions here that I would deem “mineral,” these are a faintly sweaty and slightly metallic note in the finish, which manage to fit the wine’s brash personality. I don’t fancy this gaining from bottle age, though I readily confess my lack of experience with older representatives.’ - David Schildknecht, Wine Advocate (Nov 2013)
