Henri Gouges Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Porret-Saint-Georges 2014
‘The 2014 Nuits Saint-Georges Clos des Porrets Saint-Georges 1er Cru bursts from the glass with vibrant Morello cherry and wild strawberry scents. I appreciate the oak integration in this young wine. The palate is medium-bodied with a taut line of acidity, harmonious and lively, albeit with a swift, rather abrupt finish that I am hoping will fill out with bottle age. Tasted at the Gouges retrospective at La Cabotte. 2021-2035’ - Neal Martin, Vinous, 90+/100 (Apr 2018)

'Once again reduction dominates. By contrast there is a really lovely freshness and vibrancy to the intense and focused middle weight plus flavors that culminate in a powerful, rustic and beautifully persistent finish. This is a classic Nuits that is going to require close to a decade to be approachable and should reward 12 to 15 years of cellaring. 2026+’ - Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 90-93/100 (Jan 2016)

Henri Gouges Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Porret-Saint-Georges 2015
‘The 2015 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Porrets Saint Georges is—like the Vaucrains—already beginning to shut down, gradually unfurling in the glass with aromas of cassis, currant leaf, rich spice and raw cocoa. On the palate, the wine's fine-grained tannins take center stage for the moment, but its depth, concentration and energy are all very promising: the only missing ingredient is time. 2025-2050’ - William Kelley, Wine Advocate, 93+/100 (Apr 2018)

‘A notably ripe nose of cassis, black cherry, humus and earth possesses fine complexity. There is outstanding volume and mid-palate concentration to the powerful and mouth coating middle weight flavors that exhibit a subtle minerality on the sappy, dusty, energetic and beautifully persistent finish. This is a classic Nuits that is built-to-age and will need it. 2030+’ - Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 93/100 (Jan 2018)

Henri Gouges Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Pruliers 2015
'The 2015 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Pruliers 1er Cru has a very perfumed, floral bouquet with scents of crushed flower and chalk permeating the red cherry and strawberry fruit. There is a little more horsepower here compared to the 2014 if not quite the same delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, tightening up in the middle to form a more sinewy, backward finish indicative of a vintage that is generally beginning to close up. Give this several years to really come around. Tasted at the Gouges retrospective at La Cabotte. 2023-2050’ - Neal Martin, Vinous, 92/100 (Apr 2018)
