About this Item
Pair of Danish style upholstered imbuia armchairs
each with curved back, sculpted armrests, raised on turned tapering legs joined by side stretchers, re-upholstered in cream fabric
(2)
c.1960-1970
height: 73cm; width: 69cm; depth: 53,5cm
Notes
The imbuia frame and tapering legs are all characteristic of mid-century inspired Danish craftmanship.
The joinery detail at the end of the armrest is also typical, it's purpose was to conceal a screw or dowel, but also provide a decorative contrasting detail. While there is not a definitive maker's mark, the dark round insert and expertly carved armrests reveals careful attention to typical Mid-Century detailing, on par with Danish craftsmanship.
