Artist's statement in an envelope adhered to the reverse.
She was a brave and courageous girl her skin adorned with tulip tattoos that symbolise her deep connection to her home country of Holland. Though she had yet to travel beyond her familiar shores, her dreams carried her across distant seas to the Marquesa’s Islands – legendary lands once painted by Gaugin.
They meet at the harbour.
