Bright, saturated medium ruby. Still-youthful brooding scents of cassis, peppery herbs, tobacco leaf and pungent graphite minerality; an essence of traditional Cabernet. Densely packed, fine-grained and remarkably light on its feet, showing strong pepper-and-herb lift to its cassis and mineral flavors. Shows terrific definition and energy in the middle palate and really echoes on the back end. There's a hint of sweetness here that's nicely buffered by brisk acidity and the wine's firm tannic spine. This is remarkably youthful for its age and I would not be at all surprised if it merited an even higher score in three or four years. 2019-2027' - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, 91+/100 (Mar 2017)
