The name of this wine pays tribute to the man who recognized the potential of Rustenberg ,and bought the farm in 1941, reuniting the property, restoring its buildings and investing in its potential to make world class wines. This site-specific Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the oldest vineyard on the estate, high up on the Simonsberg.

'Incredible pure, composed and solid at 19 years of age. It offers lovely black fruit, cedar and classic cigar box along with structured tannins and a sense of minerality. One of the best SA reds of the 1990s' - Roland Peens, 95/100 (2018)
