'The 1989 Cabernet Sauvignon has a ripe, fairly lactic bouquet with mocha and dark chocolate notes shrouding the core of red fruit. The palate is balanced, perhaps with a slight cork taint? A second bottle is fresher, thankfully without TCA, with more vibrant red fruit, raspberry and crushed strawberry. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy raspberry, Tayberry and a pinch of white pepper. Noticeably, quite Bordeaux-like towards the finish, with a touch of mocha on the aftertaste. This 34-year-old continues to give drinking pleasure.' - Neal Martin, Vinous, 90/100 (May 2023)
'12.2% alcohol. Dense and structured with sweet raspberry and cherry fruit with a hint of spice. This is fresh and direct with lovely acidity. Blackcurrant on the palate with nice acidity and a fine, spicy focus. Still has a sense of youth, despite its age.'' - Wineanorak.com, 96/100 (Jul 2023)
