Notes
Thembi, the daughter of Nesta Nala and the granddaughter of Siphiwe Nala grew up in one of the foremost families of Zulu ceramics. Her mother taught her from a young age how to make pots in the traditional Zulu way. "my mother welcomed everybody to learn this work, but it was only we [her daughters] who continued to watch her all the while." - Bongi Nala 2006
