About this Item
Chambertin Grand Cru 1996
3 (1 x 3) 750ml
Chambertin is one of the most revered Grand Cru vineyards in Burgundy, situated in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin. It is known for producing wines of exceptional quality, complexity, and longevity. The vineyard's limestone and clay soils, combined with optimal sun exposure, contribute to the wines' depth, structure, and aging potential.

Critics Ratings
'Lovely expression of black cherries, earth and violets in this supple, moderately concentrated red, whose acidity and tannins are muscular. Good, lingering aftertaste.' - Wine Spectator
'Somewhat rustic, musky aromas of dark cherry, crushed rock, spices, licorice, mocha, menthol and herbs. Juicy but a bit lean, with its distinctly saline, medicinal dark fruit and menthol flavors showing good intensity and life, if in the often ungiving style of the vintage. The substantial granular tannins arrive early, turning dusty and slightly dry. Boasts good palate presence but I wanted more texture and sweetness.' - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous(Dec 2018)
