The Geyserville Vineyard is located in the Alexander Valley appellation of Sonoma County. This region is known for its warm climate and diverse soil types, which are well-suited to growing Zinfandel and other Mediterranean varieties. It is primarily a Zinfandel-based field blend produced from old vines grown.

'Aromatic on the nose; thick and dense on the palate. I felt, tasting this wine blind, that there were slightly more obvious tannins than in the wine that turned out to be 1999 Lytton Springs. 'A ripe, rich, earthy style, with waxy wild berry, black cherry, blackberry, herb and minty notes. Turns a bit rustic on the finish, but the finish rings true with lively flavors. Zinfandel, Carignane and Petite Sirah.' - James Laube, Wine Spectator
