Synonymous with the history of the Stellenbosch wine region and a revolutionary producer in SA wine, Simonsig is owned by the Malan family. Frans Malan co-founded the thriving Stellenbosch Wine Route and son Johan Malan as been winemaker since 1981.

Critics Ratings

'Deep, dark colour shows youth and concentration after 12 years. The nose offers plums, bramble, vanilla and a hint of tar and salty liquorice. Juicy, rich-fruited entry flows onto the palate and fills with a super plush and seamless mouthfeel. Perfect drinking condition, with legs for further development. Typical Stellenbosch Pinotage with fruit opulence and lasting structure. At 14.7% ABV this is fully ripe, but vibrant and showing beautiful balance. 16000 bottles produced from the Kriekbult site behind the cellar, home of Kanonkop and Beeslaar Pinotage parcels too.'- Higgo Jacobs, (Feb 2020)
