A pair of Chinese Canton famille-rose vases, Qing Dynasty, late 19th/early 20th century
each baluster body enamelled with panels of court scenes, enclosed by borders of flowers and Buddhist emblems, the neck similarly enamelled, the shoulders applied with a pair of stylised lion-mask-and-ring handles, the rim enamelled with further blooms and scrolling foliage against a gilt ground, one damaged to the rim, 44,4cm high
