'It's always tricky to decide between Wade Metzer's two site-specific Chenins (why not just buy them both?), but in 2018 this is my favourite. Made with fruit from a cool, False Bay-influenced, old-vine parcel, it's pale, refined and appropriately salty, with sea breeze freshness and oatmeal, beeswax and lanolin notes freshened by acidity. 2020-25' - Tim Atkin SA Special Report 2019, 95/100

'Single bushvine block within seabreeze of coast, planted 1981. 2018 sings with freshness, agility; natural ferment adds nuance to pear, red apple aromas. 'Grapes from a 1980 vineyard situated 4km from the shore of False Bay. A complex nose with notes of citrus, yellow peach, even some pineapple plus a little earthiness and yeasty character.
