A pair of Japanese Kutani two-handled vases, Meiji period, 1868-1912

each baluster body decorated with scenes of courtiers, attendants and small boys before a riverscape and pavilion, enclosed by stiff-leaf borders, the neck decorated with peony blossoms, the sides applied with cloud-shaped handles, raised on a spreading circular foot, iron-red six-character mark, 15cm high; and a Japanese Kutani two-handled censor and cover, Meiji period, 1868-1912, baluster, similarly decorated, the cover surmounted by a shi-shi, raised on three taotie mask-headed legs, iron-red six-character mark, 15cm high
