A Chinese Export armorial plate, Qing Dynasty, Qianlong period, 1736-1795
the centre painted with an armorial in shades of iron-red, underglaze-blue, famille-verte, black and gilt highlights, the cavetto with spear-head and foliate border enclosed by a cell diaper band with four cartouches painted with Buddhist emblems, the border painted with a crest and three sprays of flower-filled vases, sienna-glazed rim, the reverse painted with four sprays of lilies, fritting chips to the rim, 22,5cm diameter
