About this Item

2011 Haut-Médoc
12 (1 x 12) 750ml

Château Cambon la Pelouse is a French wine estate located in Bordeaux's Haut-Médoc. It is one of the oldest estates in the region with a history dating to the 17th century. Over the 18th century Château Cambon la Pelouse casks sold in England for large sums of money and helped bring prestige to the Haut-Médoc region. The Left Bank estate has been owned by Jean Pierre Marie since 1996, and produces a Merlot-heavy Bordeaux blend.

Critics Ratings

‘Very bright, with lively cherry, red currant and raspberry notes, lined with a firm, stony edge that lends cut and length to the finish.’ – James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 88/100 (2014)

‘This is a warm, soft and rich wine. Coming from vines close to Margaux, it has something of the light touch of that appellation. Fruity, with fresh berry fruits and already well-integrated tannins, it's likely to mature over the medium term.’ – Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, 88/100 (Jan 2014)

‘Consistently one of my “best buy” choices, the 2011 Cambon La Pelouse is once again a big-time winner. It is made from 55% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot from the southern part of the Medoc known as Macau (close to Giscours and Cantemerle). The wine exhibits a deep ruby/plum color as well as abundant floral notes intermixed with red and black currants, spice box and a hint of subtle oak. This fleshy, medium-bodied, richly fruity 2011 can be enjoyed over the next 3-4 years.’ – Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, 87/100 (Apr 2014)
