On the crest of the Helshoogte Pass is the picturesque wine farm of Tokara owned by ex-banker GT Ferreira. Tokara’s first vines were planted in 1998 with a state-of-the-art winery erected shortly thereafter. Tokara has been consistently recognised as one of South Africa's top wineries.

Critics Ratings

‘73% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot. Merlot-driven on account of leaf-roll virus evident in some of the Cabernet Sauvignon plantings. Black fruit, graphite, some leafiness and the start of some developed character. Medium bodied with fresh acidity and fine tannins.
