About this Item
Saint-Joseph Le Clos, 2013
6 (1 x 6) 750ml
Michel’s Chapoutier’s landholding, track record and incredible consistency from entry-level wines through to the single-vineyards is unparalleled in the world of wine. Chapoutier ranked 4th in 2019 amongst the “World's Most Admired Wine Brands“. Chapoutier is one of the oldest names in the Rhone valley. Founded in 1808 by the Calvet family, it was sold to the Chapoutier family in 1855. Today, Michel Chapoutier is the reference-point for the entire Rhône Valley, especially with their single vineyard Sélections Parcellaires. In fact, Robert Parker has praised Chapoutier’s Northern Rhône’s as some of the world finest wines.
Critics Ratings
‘Deeper in color and more opaque than the Les Granits, the 2013 Saint-Joseph Le Clos checks in at 14% natural alcohol and has beautiful density and depth in its crème de cassis, burning embers, wet rock and charcoal-scented bouquet. Medium to full-bodied, tight, focused and sensationally pure, with building tannin and a seamless, elegant, lengthy profile, it needs 2-3 years of cellaring and will have two or more decades of overall longevity.’ - Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, 96/100 (Dec 2015)
