A Colonial hardwood armchair, 18th century with carved pierced splat, saddle-shaped toprail, elaborately carved arm supports, drop-in leather seat, serpentine-shaped apron, on exaggerated carved cabriole legs headed by scrolls, the hoof feet joined by a shaped H-stretcher centred by a shell
