About this Item
Domaine Alain Graillot is a top wine producer located in Crozes-Hermitage in the northern Rhône. Alain Graillot founded the domaine in 1985, releasing his first vintage from a rented vineyard. The domaine quickly rose to prominence and only three years after its establishment, Graillot purchased the vineyards he had been renting. Now, Graillot makes a range of Syrah-based wines in Crozes-Hermitage, Hermitage, and Saint-Joseph.
Critics Ratings
‘Very lively, with mouthwatering acidity driving a host of lavender, iron, and bramble notes through dense raspberry and blackberry fruit. A sanguine note adds lovely, tangy length to the finish. Should rival the 2005 for best among recent vintages.’ – James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 92/100 (Oct 2011)
‘Deep ruby. Black raspberry and cherry on the nose and palate, with fresh violet and anise qualities adding vivacity. Juicy and precise but nicely concentrated too, with a seamless texture and very good thrust. Finishes sweet, spicy and long, with resonating florality and lingering spice notes.’ – Josh Raynolds, Vinous, 91/100 (Mar 2012)
'Ripe, juicy, but not at all sweet fruit. Dark and dense and compact on the palate. Lovely emerging fragrance. Dry, layered, great depth.' – Richard Hemming MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16.5/20 (Oct 2013)
