A Chinese 'Kraak' blue and white bowl, Kangxi period, 1662-1722
the centre painted with a bird before a rocky outcrop enclosed by sprays of flowerheads and a butterfly, the cavetto with four shaped medallions each painted with alternating flowerheads and pomegranates, divided by Buddhist emblems, scale work and diaper borders, barbed rim, the reverse with stylised oval medallions and sprays of flowers between blue-line borders, fritting chips, 14,5cm diameter
