A finely painted Chinese enamel dish, 19th century
the centre painted with a pair of seated sages before dishes filled with peaches and finger citron, a young attendant proffering a dish of fruit, the foreground painted with a bearded sage holding a linghzi in his left hand in discussion with a young maiden, a young boy with a basket of flowers over his shoulder walking beside his goat, its saddle embellished with peonies and moonflowers, before a rocky landscape, trees and stylised clouds, enclosed by a band of flowers against a yellow ground with a blue-and-white key-fret border above, the reverse with a four blue-glazed chilong amongst scrolling lotus blooms against a yellow ground, the low foot with blue and white key-fret border, the base with a medallion of two interlocking chilong, restorations, 44cm diameter
