A Cape silver tessie-on-stand, Daniel Heinrich Schmidt, late 18th century

with castellated and engraved everted rim, raised on three ball-and-claw feet headed by ovolo moulding, fixed copper liner, pinhead dents, 9cm high, 450g all in, secured by a silver nut and bolt to a circular stinkwood base, raised on three turned ebonised feet, age related split, 4,3cm high, 17,8cm diameter
