A Chinese wood, bone and ivory diorama, 20th century
rectangular, carved in the form of rocky outcrops, the central outcrop carved with five levels, each applied with stained ivory figures of Sages, cranes, bamboo and pine trees, the lower section with a temple, the four corners carved with 'The Three Friends' and ruyi motifs, the ground carved with stylised choppy waves and a small figure in his boat, enclosed by carved fretwork above painted panels, on a moulded stepped base raised on four bracket feet, damage, repairs, some loss, 43,5cm high
