A Meissen tureen and cover, late 19th century
oval, the body encrusted with flowers and foliage in high relief and painted with panels of courting couples in eighteenth century attire within gilt-scroll borders, the sides applied with scroll handles, the interior with gilt cartouche, the cover similarly decorated and surmounted by putti holding a floral garland, raised on four scroll feet, chips to flowers and foliage, overall minor chips, underglaze-blue crossed swords, 28,5cm high, 38cm wide over handles
