About this Item
After completing harvests in Sancerre, Saint-Émilion and Béziers, and working for many years at Kleine Zalze and Graham Beck, Erika Obermeyer took a leap of faith and set out to produce her own range of wines. In 2016, Erika established Erika O as a boutique winery aimed at producing small-batch, hand-crafted, terroir specific wines from selected vineyards across the Cape Winelands. Sourcing grapes from select vineyard sites across the Western Cape winelands, including Groenekloof, Stellenbosch and Voor Paardeberg, Erika produces wines that embody the very best of distinctive and diverse regions. Her talent as a solo winemaker was immediately noticed both locally and abroad, most notably being awarded the Newcomer Winery of the Year in the 2019 Platter SA Wine Guide.

'A serious wine with all the hallmarks of an extraordinary Cabernet. The nose features alluring nuances of concentrated red and black fruit, tilled earth and cedar wood combined with oak spice, while the palate shows intensity and depth underscored by chalky ripe tannins and a savoury finish.
