About this Item
A rosewood and ivory-inlaid work box, 18th century, Vizagpatam
the hinged rectangular top inlaid with a floral spray enclosed by a border of scrolling foliage and flowerheads, the sides carved with scroll and leaf handles and flanked by floral sprays, the interior fitted with six divisions, on a later Victorian hardwood and ivory-mounted stand, with a double row of turned spindles joined by a stretcher, on out-swept legs with brass cappings and castors, applied with turned ivory bosses, 76cm high, 51cm wide, 37cm deep
