Notes
This early abstract by Larry Scully reflects his signature "repeated use of vibrant notes of brilliant red in conjunction with the icy intensity of polar blue"1 evident in a variety of his paintings. This work was painted after the completion of his BA Fine Arts degree at Wits in 1951 and before the completion of his MA degree on Battiss at the Pretoria University in 1963.2
