A Chinese export ivory puzzle ball and stand, early 20th century
the concentric pierced ball carved in relief with dragons amongst clouds enclosing multiple concentric balls, raised on a pierced domed similarly carved stand, surmounted by a maiden seated on a rocky outcrop beneath an umbrella of blossoms, the detachable stepped pierced column carved with conforming dragons and puzzle balls to a circular cup-shaped support, the rim with minor chips, 35cm high
