This drawing formed part of the exhibition of the artist's work held at the Eastern Province Society of Arts and Crafts, catalogue number 3.

There is a variation of this drawing engraved in aquatint and colour in William Burchell. (1824) Burchell's Travels in the Interior of Southern Africa, volume II, London: Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme, Browne and Green. Page 464.
