BAT is the acronym for bon à tirer proofs, which are proofs designated by the artist to serve as the standard, both aesthetically and technically, for the printing of the edition. Sometimes identical with the printers' proofs of the edition.

Akarova and Jack (lot 469) were printed by MK and Lungi Kongisa. They are part of a portfolio of 4 linocuts and were made for The Lulu Plays artist's book by Frank Wedekind, illustrated by Kentridge.
