About this Item
Pol Roger "Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill" 1986 - In its 160 years of history, Pol Roger has carved out one of the strongest reputations in the select circle of the leading Champagne brands. Pol Roger was born on December 24, 1831, the son of a lawyer, he started his own champagne house in 1849, with the first growths released in 1853. Based around the town of Epernay, the house releases non-vintage cuvées every year, as well as three vintage wines, and the house's prestige label - the Vintage Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill (as Churchill had a legendary thirst for Champagne, especially Pol Roger). For five generations, the descendants have been equally demanding, remaining loyal to the strategy initiated from the very beginning by the firm's founder. Today, the house is still owned and run by the family.

Critics Ratings
Pol Roger "Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill" 1986
'Flavorful yet dry, with lean citrus accents, lively acidity and a crisp, almost austere finish. Still has a great mouthfilling mousse after all these years on the yeast.' - Wine Spectator, (Dec 1997)
