'One of a quintet of very different shiraz's. This is from estate's best site - dry gravelly, strewn with koffieklip ('coffee stones') - yielding appropriately mineral, savoury, elegant shiraz. 08 is winemaking at its apogee; ethereal, spicy, very polished, with powerful fullness of flavour.' - Platter's SA Wine Guide 2013, 4.5*
'The source of this impressively, tightly-wound Syrah is "stone, not soil" according to winemaker Carl Schultz. It's a dense, even slightly reticent wine with lots of power in reserve, firm tannins, smoky, savoury oak and ripe, chocolate and blackberry fruit flavours.
