G, 2010
3 (1 x 3) 1500ml
After a beautiful Private Preview release in 2009, only available to select family and friends, the story of 4G Wine Estate and their cult wine “G.” continues to unfold. 2010 marks the first official vintage in the market, crafted together with South African wine legend Giorgio Dalla Cia. The G stands for ‘First Growth’ and the 2010 was the first commercial release, stored in a special engraved wooden box.

'A world class red that is surely the ‘First Growth’ of South Africa and imminently the country’s finest wine.' - Tim Gaiser, Master Sommelier

Producer

The “G.” has been holding its own against some of the finest wines in the world, leaving a new mark of luxury wine making from South Africa. Every step in the production is meticulously crafted by hand to create a total piece of art inside and outside of the bottle. A daring Bordeaux/Hermitage-style wine composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The bouquet displays spicy and smoky aromas, over a subtle background of fresh fruit, blueberry and cassis mingling with the scent of Havana tobacco. In a full-bodied attack, a multitude of dark berries and a hint of juniper show tremendous ripeness in a powerful, yet lovely balance. Deeply integrated tannins. Marvellous lengthy finish, offering extraordinary ageing potential.
