Vega Sicilia was founded in 1864 by the Don Eloy Lecanda y Chaves. It is considered as the top Spanish wine producer with its wine receiving much international acclaim. The Alvarez family took over in 1982 providing more consistent quality in their wines over the years. They produce three wines Unico, Valbuena 5° and Vega Sicilia Unico Reserva Especial from their 210 hectares of vines.

Ground-breaking and independent, and the result of the evolution of a famous family of great wines - Vega Sicilia. Recognised, distinguished and praised for the authenticity of its temperament, Alión today symbolises a universal and forward—looking spirit.

‘The good news is that the 2003 Alion is even better than the 2002. It has a similar personality but with more depth and concentration as well as structure.
