About this Item
Planted in 1969, Moss Wood is an important, founding estate of the Margaret River wine region of Wilyabrup in Western Australia. As winemakers, viticulturalists and proprietors, Clare and Keith Mugford have been making wine and tending the vineyard at Moss Wood since 1984 and 1979, respectively. Their exacting viticulture ensures the production of grapes of excellent quality, and they have created a stable of fine wines distinguished by their consistency over each vintage and their ability to age superbly. The Moss Wood and Mugford names are synonymous with uncompromising quality.

Critics Ratings
‘The high quality vintage shines through this wine, illuminating its intricate multifaceted complexity; almost, but not quite, juicy cassis fruit is swathed in perfectly balanced French oak and gently ripe tannins. The only problem will be keeping your hands off it.’ - James Halliday, James Halliday’s Top 100, 98/100 (Nov 2015)
‘Deep garnet in color with a slight purple in the rim, Moss Wood's 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon opens with notes of crème de cassis, blackberry tart and anise with nuances of cloves, cedar, pencil lead, menthol and dark chocolate. Medium-bodied with oodles of opulence and spice on offer in the mouth, it has a gorgeous velvety texture, just enough freshness and great length.’ - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Advocate, 95/100 (Apr 2016)
‘Bright crimson. Very subtle and layered with real delight here. Lift and spice. Really appetising with balsam notes. Lip-smacking. So long!’ - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 18/20 (May 2016)
