About the SessionJust how well do modern-era South African wines perform as they get older ? One of the most important measures of great wine is that it should be age-worthy, that is it should become more pleasurable and more interesting to drink with time in the bottle.

About this Item
Straddled between the Stellenbosch and Helderberg mountains, with less than 30 hectares of scattered high-altitude vineyards, Keermont was started by the Wraith family in 2003 and was formed by combining 2 adjacent farms. Relaxed yet quality-focused Alex Starey has been in charge of the wines since redevelopment and planting in 2005, producing the maiden 2007.

Critics Ratings
'It has a very pure and floral bouquet, wilted rose petals infusing the redcurrant and cranberry aromas, the oak deftly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with a supple texture, juicy and lithe in the mouth, unfolding with raspberry coulis and cranberry leaf notes, just a touch of bay leaf and Sri Lankan spices towards the finish. Perhaps more easy-drinking in style, it is a perfect introduction to the delights of Keermont.' – Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, 89/100 (Apr 2017)
'Milk chocolate, plum, black pepper, smoke, cedar – loads of flavour here in a very classic New World style. Sets Barossa a challenge!' – Richard Hemming MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17+/20 (Sep 2016)
