A Chinese polychrome 'Swatow' bowl, 17th century
the centre painted with foliate motifs enclosed by stylised foliage and flowerheads in iron-red and viridian green glaze against a craquelure ground, the reverse painted with a pair of birds amongst flowering trees, the rim with six medallions enclosed by lattice work, chips to the foot rim, 15cm diameter
