Sumner depicted the same scene in a watercolour, A Winter's Day (Snow Clearing Charmonix), dating from 1974, sold by Strauss & Co on 16 March 2015 as lot 421. Both the painting and the watercolour were exhibited at the Hoffer Gallery, Pretoria, in 1977.
