A Welsh treen 'chain' knitting sheath, 19th century
the two ends carved in the form of hands united by an integral chain, 91cm long; and a collection of treen turned and carved lace bobbins, 18th/19th century, in sizes, with glass spangles, losses, the longest 14cm long
Notes
The coloured Venetian glass spangles attached to many examples enabled the lace maker to distinguish between the numerous bobbins in simultaneous use.
