A Chinese polychrome ‘Swatow’ Zhangzhou dish, 17th century
the centre painted with a pair of phoenix surrounded by stylised peonies and scrolling foliage, enclosed by a double iron-red line border, the rim painted and enamelled with alternating cartouches enclosed by a lattice ground, raised on a low foot, 25,5cm diameter
