Amanda Botha talks Maggie Laubser and the Art Dealer

Maggie Laubser‘s first public recognition came in 1946 when the “SA Akademie vir Kuns en Wetenskap” ( SA Academy of Art & Science) awarded her their prestige Medal of Art. It was in this time that she also met the German art dealer, Dr Helmut Silberberg, who played a significant role in shaping the professional art dealership as we know it today. Amanda Botha, journalist and author will talk about the influence that these experiences had on Maggie Laubser and her career
