APS 35 Years – A Legacy in Printmaking
Artist Proof Studio in partnership with Strauss & Co warmly invites you to a panel discussion celebrating 35 years of printmaking, mentorship and artistic exchange.
This special conversation brings together two international master printers who led workshops at the studio in the 1990’s – Birgit Blyth and Judy Quinn, who led workshops at the studio in the 1990s – in dialogue with alumni from that formative period: Philemon Hlungwane, Lucas Ngkweng, Thabang Lehoybe and Stompie Selibe.
Together, they reflect on the experimentation and cross-cultural exchange of the 1990s, and the lasting impact of APS’s commitment to excellence and access.
Part of the APS 35-year celebrations, marking three and a half decades of artistic excellence, access to education and creative opportunity — a legacy that continues to shape the country’s cultural landscape.
