Rikhotso carves in various scales such as in this comparatively diminutive work of a figure depicted in a long-sleeve jersey and athletic pants with side stripes. The figure is positioned in an active stance with legs spread and hands held in front of the body, as if about to engage in an activity or sport. This intimately scaled figure abounds with energy that is counter to conceptions of static figurative sculpture.
