Timed Online Auction, 2 - 24 February 2025
Botterblom Collection
About the SessionThe collective of artisans, working at Frances VH Mohair Studio, has created a space where vision, dedication, storytelling and shared purpose coalesce through the power of creative agency and voice. Their latest project, the impactful Botterblom Collection, traces aspects of daily life that pulse through a street in a neighbourhood in Prince Albert. Woven from the dreams, hopes and fears of everyday life, the collection is a celebration of the beauty inherent in imperfection while also showcasing and contributing to material culture. What emerges from the collection is sensual, deeply spiritual and unique work, taking on the name of the street to honour the marks of time embedded in place.

About this Item
Notes
Raw, untamed mohair folds into a marshmallow pink bed, an
orange key accesses the living area as the sun dyes the sky
at the close of day. The veld darkens into the evening breeze,
plants breathe out and we believe that tomorrow the rains will
come and the gutters will be washed clean.
Her pink slippers shuffle past the living area toward the veld
leaving tracks from the lounge in the open plains.
Where the weave ends and the hand stitching begins is detailed
by the attention you give to these washed-out plains. So simple
you almost laugh at its desire to be viewed. Something catches
your eye as you smirk onto the next, you decide to stop, a thread
must have slipped. Intentional? No, placed.
Wait why is the pink kid in the veld? That’s for adults only.
You look again, open, plain, never trying to lure you in with
charm or loud acts of showmanship. A pipe dream for you to
see or choose to smirk past.
